Coaching Workshop
Special thanks to Hugh Kenny on his excellent workshop last Friday night in Gaelcholáiste na Mara. He covered some excellent topics, both girls and boys coaches got a lot from it.

Junior Men
The Junior men had their first match of the season against Avoca on Thursday 16th April. Although the final result was against them it was more a case of not converting their attacks on goal into scores that cost them this match. Hard luck lads. Final score AGB 2-9 to Avoca 1-13.

Minor Men
Well done to the AGB Minor Men who came out on top against Rathnew in the Group 1 Spring League . Final score 2-9 to 1-3.

U11/U12 Boys
The U11 boys have a game planned against Castletown this Thursday, the 23rd, in Pearse's Park  at 7.10pm. Training is going well for this group, the lads are enjoying training and their commitment to training is very evident.

The U12 boys renewed their old friendships with Castletown in Ballymoney on the 13th of April. In what was only their 3rd game of the season the lads played fantastic, free flowing, attacking football from the off, took some breath taking scores and displayed excellent team work!! Thanks to Castletown for traveling up and AGB look forward to traveling down to their pitch for the return in 2 weeks time. The boy's next game is on in Pearse's Park on the 20th of April v Baltinglass. Please support.

U9/U10 Boys
Boys U9/10's training continues on Saturdays in Pearse's Park at 11.15am. Saturday the 18th saw the boys participate in a Blitz in Carnew.

Senior and Junior Ladies
There were mixed fortunes for AGB 1 and AGB 2 in the combined cup competition on Sunday 19th April 2015 as they played simultaneously in Arklow, where AGB 1 hosted an under-strength Clara, and in Carnew where AGB 2 took on the ladies from Carnew in an eleven a-side encounter, in which AGB struggled from a lack of numbers on the day.

Carnew with home advantage and a full squad were worthy winners in this encounter despite strong displays from Arklow youngsters Becky Hayden, Kayleigh Earls, Róisín O'Reilly and Clodagh Healy. The final score-line was 3-6 to 0-8 in favour of the home side but the Arklow management will be happy with the determination and commitment shown by the eleven girls who fought bravely throughout the full fifty minutes played. The cup competition provides opportunities for newcomers to get a taste of junior ladies football and is all part and parcel of the preparation for league and championship competitions.

AGB 1 had a convincing win over an under-strength Clara side that had recently defeated AGB 2 in Arklow in the same competition. This was a reverse of the situation in Carnew with Clara having only twelve players and AGB having the advantage of substitutes to run in and give Arklow that extra edge on the day. No doubt a full-strength Clara will be a totally different proposition come championship time so good luck to the girls and full credit to them for their tenacity and spirit in the face of such an uphill task as the one they faced in Arklow on Sunday. Well done to referee Eamonn Bradley who kept the game free flowing throughout. Both teams enjoyed some light and healthy refreshments after this sporting, if somewhat one-sided, encounter.

Upcoming league game scheduled for the 25th of April AGB Div2 v Carnew (home).

U14 Girls
AGB's U14 Division 3 girl's began their League campaign on Thursday the 16th of April against St Pat's in a very exciting home game played at the Ballymoney venue. Both teams had the lead in a match which finished in a draw with a final result of 2-2 to 1-5. In a very tightly contested 1st half the defences won out with St. Pat's scoring the only points to lead by 3 points at half-time and AGB failing to convert their chances. The 2nd half was a different story with AGB starting very strongly, playing some great football and scoring 2 goals and 2 points to run up a 4 point lead. Unfortunately the girls didn't hold on to their lead as St. Pat's finished very strongly, scoring a goal and a point in the final ten minutes to secure the draw.

Congratulations to Kinga Kalinowska, Laura Clare, Amy Roche, Caoimhe Quinn and Gabby Werder who made their competitive debuts for the club this evening - well played girls - bright futures for you all, keep up the hard work.

Next week the teams will meet again in the County Feile.

County U14 Feile
The County Feile will be played over a single day this year - Saturday April 25th. There will be 3 teams in each group. AGB U14 Div1 girls have been paired against Tinahely and Valleymount. AGB U14 Div3 girls have been paired against St. Pat's and An Tochar.

U12 Girls
AGB U12 girl's continued their winning ways on Friday the 17th with a one point win against a very strong Baltinglass team, away from home. Both teams contributed to a great match, with lovely football from both sides. AGB were a goal in front at half time and with the entire team putting in a strong determined performance, the girls finished a point ahead after a late goal by the home side. The game may well have went the other way only for some fine saves from Eimear Gregory in goal. Final score: 2-5 to 2-4. Well done girls, keep up the great work in training! Special thanks to Tony who drove the bus to and from the match! On a separate note we would like to wish a speedy recovery to Kym, Carlene and Aisling who missed tonight's match due to injury/sickness.
