St Patricks GAA club notes

April 13, 2015

Our Ladies side had two great wins this week. The Senior Ladies travelled to Tinahely on Tuesday night for their first League appearance of the season where they won 3-11 to 1-10. It was a cracking game of football from both teams, but the Pat's girls seemed hungrier and more determined for the win. The U14 girls also travelled down to Arklow where they won 6-9 to 3-6, with scores from Emer McNulty (5-1), Sinead McGettigan (0-4), Weronika Kuzio (1-0), Niamh McSorley (0-3), Rachel and Winters (0-1).

The U8 hurlers trained again this week with Jack O'Leary winning U7 Player of the Week and Matthew Leonard winning U8 Player of the Week. Well done lads.

Well done to Gary Duffy and all involved with the Easter Camp which was held this week. They certainly had good weather for it. Don't forget we have our "Little Warriors" Nursery every Saturday morning between 11am and 12.15pm for boys and girls between the ages of 4-6 years old both football and hurling. The club are always looking for extra coaches so we would appreciate any volunteers to help out.

The club's next big fundraiser takes place this Saturday 18th April in our clubhouse at 8.30pm.  A GAA related play called 'The Pull' will be performed.  This play, written and performed by Liam Horan and John Corless, has been touring GAA clubs all over the country.  Tickets are €15 each and are available in The Sports Room (formerly Frankie Sports) and also Next Door (opposite the AIB).  You can also contact 087 6214903 to purchase tickets or ask any committee member.  It promises to be a great night out so we are asking our members and supporters to please buy a ticket(s) and make the event a success.  Tickets are limited so buy early!  Doors open at 7.30pm on the night and our bar will be open.

Also on this Saturday, Wicklow GAA are holding a coaching workshop in Ballinakill from 11.30 to 1, focusing on coaching in scenarios of Defensive Play, Tackling Back and Turning Attack into Defence. The cost is €5 per coach and we are looking for any coaches that wish to take part.

The Jackpot of €6,100 in our weekly club lotto draw on Monday April 6 was not won.  Numbers drawn were 10, 11, 20 and 22.  The bonus number was 23.  Two people shared the weekly Match 3 prize of €250; Patrick O'Toole and Myles Manning.  Thanks to everyone who supports our lotto.  We are always looking for new people to help sell tickets so if you feel you could sell a book of 5 or 10 tickets every week please contact 087 6214903.

Memberships are now due, anyone who hasn't paid cannot attend training or play after 30th April. Please contact Eddie 086 8349272 for further details.
