U11/U12 Boys

Well done to both U12 boys teams who were out against a very strong Bray outfit on Monday the 6th of April. The U11's had a tough game against a bigger Bray U12 team; however they came out on top at the end. There was a great improvement in the boys since the Tinahely game. There will be more learning, development and tough battles ahead in the top division. Well done to Patrick Dickson, his first game for the club was brilliant. He slotted in with ease with his exceptional pace. Louie Harris Higerty had a great start and slotted into the forwards effortlessly, scoring three powerful goals. Well done to Sean McCarty who made so many great saves in goal. Riain Fortune, Conor Gahan, Conor Hannon and Sean Murphy in defence all played very solid games. They created a unyielding platform for the forwards. Chris O'Brien, Cormac Ward and Niall O'Donavon dominated midfield. In the forwards, Darragh Furlong, Dean Farrell, Killian Brehony, Louie Harris Higerty and Oran Dunning all played very well. Padraig Birmingham's work-rate in the forwards was exceptional. It was great to see so many of the forwards scoring, which was based on the great supply from the backs and midfield.  Special thanks to Nigel (Eirtec) for sponsoring the team jerseys for this year. The next game is on in Pearse's Park on the 20th of April v Baltinglass. Please support.

U9/U10 Boys

Boys U9/10's training continues on Saturdays in Pearse's Park at 11.15am. However next Saturday the 18th will see the boys participate in a Blitz in Carnew. All players must be registered to take part in this Blitz.

Senior Ladies

Upcoming Cup Fixture scheduled for the 19th of April, AGB Div1 v Clara (home).

Junior Ladies

Arklow Geraldines Ballymoney Junior Ladies travelled to Enniskerry on Thursday 9th April to contest this Junior League tie. The opening half was a very evenly fought contest with both sides looking sharp and taking their chances as they came.  AGB went into the break with a two point lead on a score line of 1-6 to 0-7. Enniskerry really found their rhythm in the second half and played as a unit, running at the Arklow backs and breaching the visitors' defence time and again, only this time they converted the majority of their chances.  Enniskerry were convincing winners on a score line of 3-20 to 1-9. Best for AGB on the day were at opposite ends of the field, Doirrean O'Reilly between the posts and Katie Furlong in the full forward position. Full report on AGBPro Facebook page. Upcoming Cup Fixture scheduled for the 19th of April, Carnew v AGB Div2 (away). Upcoming league game scheduled for the 25th of April AGB Div2 v Carnew (home).

U16 Girls

AGB U16 Div 1 girls are scheduled to play Bray on the 14th of April at 7pm (away). AGB U16 Div 2 girls are scheduled to play Blessington on the 14th of April at 7pm (home).

U14 Girls

The U14 Div1 girls were out in the league on Thurs 9th April v St. Pats and it was a cracker of a game between these two well matched teams. St. Pats were first out of the blocks scoring a goal in the first attack followed by a point. AGB settled and responded with two quick goals. With all the play AGB should have pulled away, but missed chances gave the Wicklow town girls encouragement, and after trading scores they somehow led by 4 at half time. The second half started in similar fashion to the first and St. Pats increased their lead. Not done yet AGB rallied and made it a 1 point game with 15 mins to go, but couldn't get their noses ahead and despite getting good scores the experienced St. Pats team pulled away in the final quarter to claim victory, with the scoreline not reflecting the AGB effort. Final score AGB 3-6 St. Pats 6-9. Special mention to Nicole Byrne who had an excellent night in goals and we welcome Grace Hurley, Eve Rogers and Anna Keating to the club this year. The U14 Div3 girls are next up to play St. Pat's in their first League game.  This will be a home game on the 16th of April at 7.30pm.

County U14 Feile

The County Feile will be played over a single day this year - Saturday April 25th. There will be 3 teams in each group. AGB U14 girls have been paired against Tinahely and Valleymount.

U12 Girls

The U12 girl's started their league campaign on Sat 11th April with a comprehensive win against St. Pats on a score line of 8-17 to 1-2. The entire team played their part. Well done girls. Up next is Baltinglass on the 14th of April at 7pm (away).

U10 Girls

The first County Blitz for the U10 girls will take place on Saturday the 25th of April at St. Pat's grounds.

U8 Girls

The U8 girls started back training on Sat 11th April.  Training will continue on Saturday's at 11.15am on the training pitch in Pearses' Park. The first County Blitz for the U8 girls will take place on Saturday the 25th of April at St. Pat's grounds.

Wicklow Minor Ladies

Wicklow Minor Ladies took on Longford in the final group game of the 2015 Leinster Division II Championship in Blessington on Saturday 11th April. Having beaten Carlow and Louth, Wicklow were sure of a semi-final placing regardless of the result of this encounter, however the girls were keen to get another win under their belt in preparation for the semi-finals next weekend. Wicklow ended worthy winners on a score line of 5-19 to 5-03. Wicklow will now face the winners of Laois and Westmeath from Division I in the semi final, which takes place on April 18th.
