Rathnew GAA Club wishes to extend its deepest sympathy to the family of Mr Anthony Doyle R.I.P. Anthony started off playing underage football and represented the Club at all levels eventually going on to win a Senior Championship. He was a selector and manager of various teams down the years. He introduced Ladies Football to Rathnew 20 years ago. Anthony also played Hurling for the Club. He was a member of the Committee for more years than anyone can remember holding every position at one time or another. He served on the Committee with hes wife Betty for many a year.GAA was always a part of the Doyle household.Even when not officially involved Anthony was our biggest fan with him and Betty getting to as many games as possible. He was unwell for last years County Final but he was delighted when the Club visited him in hospital with the Miley Cup. Last year Anthony was given the highest honour by the Club as he was the first recipient of the 'Hall of Fame ' award. He had tears in hes eyes as he accepted the award at last years Dinner Dance. He was genuinely shocked but proud to accept the award surrounded by he's family and friends. Our thoughts are with Anthony's wife Betty their children Ken, Roy, Aisling, Fergal and Brefní and all the family at this sad time. A true GAA family who have followed their fathers example and have Rathnew in their hearts,
