Poor decision making cost Leitrim - Ward

Shane Ward has attributed Leitrim's dramatic collapse against Wicklow to poor decision making.

The visitors were in complete control of Sunday's Division Four encounter at Aughrim as they led by nine points to no score coming up to the 30th minute but they managed to somehow snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

"It's not hard to find words, it's just very simple," the losing manager notes in The Leitrim Observer. "In a game like that, you're in full control of the game for long periods and then you begin to make the wrong decisions on the ball.

"It will cost you in the end. You can't do those things at this level. Situations like that can get very intense out there and decision making becomes the optimum and they have to step up and make faster decisions, better decisions.

"They have to read what's happening in the game themselves, go and grab the ball, and do what they did so well for 40 minutes and keep doing that, keep things simple."
