Glenealy 2-11
Carnew Emmets 1-7
Glenealy clinched the Wicklow intermediate hurling championship title on Saturday last after a comfortable win over Carnew Emmets in Arklow.
After taking in a slender 1-7 to 1-5 lead at the break, Glenealy upped their performance in the second-half and pulled away from their opponents with points from marksman Rory O'Neill to put themselves in the driving seat for the final quarter which they controlled for the victory.
Nick Skelton's first-half goal looked to have Carnew Emmets in a promising position early on but they couldn't halt the winners' firepower and it was O'Neill that buried in the decisive goal and had the championship heading back to Glenealy village.
There would be some consolation for Emmets the next day as their U16s footballers collected the county championship crown with a 2-12 to 1-10 victory over AGB at the same venue.
