Again we ask for new lotto ticket sellers as we need to keep the Club at the top.

A fantastic win by our Senior team v's Rathvilly in the 1st round of the Leinster Championship. It was a genuine display of what Rathnew football is all about. With injuries having depleted our squad and an early black card our backs were to the wall. It was time for everyone to stand up and be counted. Jamie Snell slotted into centre back and was commanding, Philly Murphy showed us all what he can do with great running and score taking. Dave Jameson having an excellent game.Old heads Tommy Gill and Bruiser Byrne calmed things down . Jody 'Duck' Merrigan getting the vital goal. But everyone played a big part to ensure Rathnew were there when the 'fat lady sang'. We look forward to taking on the Kildare Champions Moorefield in 2 weeks time in Aughrim. A bit more support would be welcome from all the County.

Thanks to Ashford GAA Club for the use of their pitch and lights. Due to the ongoing development of our ground there are no lights at the moment. Erection of new lights is well on the way and should be up and running in a week or two.

JunB Championship: Our boys will take on Bray Saturday 1st Nov in Arklow at 3pm. This is the replay and if our boys play football with their hands and feet and not their mouths we'll be adding another title come Saturday evening. Best of luck lads.

Rathnew GAA Club would like to extend its deepest sympathy to the Byrne Family Glenealy on the sad passing of Betty Byrne R.I.P.
Also deepest sympathy to the Jameson Family Rathnew on the sad passing of Tony Jameson R.I.P. Tony was a brother of Rathnew greats Fred and John Jameson.

A big well done to Harry 'he's got that in he's locker MIcheal' Murphy who added football commentary to he's repertoire. Harry was Micheal Sargeants guest on East Coast Radios coverage of the Rathnew game. Anyone who knows Harry knows he's never lost for a few words so poor Micheal ended up trying to squeeze in the odd line here and there.

Get well wishes to great Rathnew supporter Ann Ronan .Ann never misses a match and her son Darren managed the very successful Intermediate side this year.

We wish young Kilmacanogue GAA man Shane Vickers all the best as the popular goalkeeper recovers in hospital from a serious accident.
