Magee to leave no stone unturned

Former Dublin star Johnny Magee

Wicklow manager Johnny Magee has vowed to search the county for new players.

Magee was appointed the Wicklow football manager earlier this week as he takes over from Harry Murphy for who the former Dublin footballer worked with last year.

Speaking to the Wicklow People, Magee stressed that promotion from division four was the main target for the 2015 campaign.

"I want to get them out of division four. There's a lot of work that has to be done before the first league game on January 31st," said Magee.

"I worked with the lads all year, so I've a good relationship with them. The lads know what to expect from me. I'd have high standards in relation to training and the lads know that. I'm looking forward to it. It's an exciting time for myself and obviously Wicklow.

"I'll be looking to organise trials over a couple of weekends in Ballinakill. I want to leave no stone unturned to try and find new talents. The panel will be open-ended."
