Magee won't close door on Glynn

New Wicklow football manager Johnny Magee would welcome a u-turn by Leighton Glynn on his decision to retire from the inter-county football scene.

Earlier in the week, Garden County legend Glynn (32) announced his decision to focus on hurling in the new year but former Dublin footballer Magee says the door remains open for him to return to the footballers.

"I think he has made his mind up," Magee told The Irish Daily Star.

"If he made himself available of course I would be interested. He said he would give it one year with the hurlers.

"Best of luck to him. Obviously if he changes his mind the door is open for him.

"There's no way I'd close the door on a fella like that."

Magee served as coach to Harry Murphy in 2014 and believes that there is room for improvement with the Leinster outfit.

"I reckon with my experience and dealing with them last year that we can achieve something."
