Best of luck to our senior footballers who play Eire Og in the Coogan Steel Senior Football Championship semi final replay this Sunday the 28th in Aughrim.  Please come out and support our team as they try to reach the county final.  Our minor footballers had a narrow but great win over Baltinglass in the championship at the weekend and are now into the semi finals.  Likewise our Under 14 boys enjoyed a victory over Blessington in the last of the round robin matches in the championship and have topped the group.  Well done to all the players and mentors on both teams.  Congratulations to our Under 14A girls team who defeated AGB in the county semi final and are now into the County Final.  Again well done to all concerned. On Saturday night in the club we had a social night for past players, mentors and anyone involved in the running of the club down through the years.  Thanks to everyone who came and swapped old stories and memories and made the night a success.  We hope to make this an annual event on the eve of the All Ireland Football Final every year.  Special mention to Patrice, John and Debbie and anyone who helped out in making the night happen.  Our club lotto was not won on Monday 15th September and the jackpot now stands at €2,550.  We are looking for volunteers to help sell lotto tickets on a Saturday night around the town.  We want to build up enough people to organise a rota that would mean everyone would only have to do their turn one week in every four.   Please contact Alan on 087 6214903 or any committee member if you would like to help.  Your club needs you!  During September the club's boys & girls juvenile sections ran a fundraiser by holding an auction and a draw for All Ireland Hurling and Football finals tickets.  The club would like to thank Eugene Dooley of Dooley Poynton Auctioneers, Stan O'Reilly of The Tap Café  for their generous donations of tickets and also to Alan Smullen of the Croke Park Hotel for the overnight accomodation for the football final draw winner.  The fundraisers helped raise vital funds for our thriving juvenile sections and thanks to everyone who supported them.  Finally to keep up to date with all our current club results and fixtures please check our Facebook page.  Anybody who wants anything included in the Club Notes please email Eugene at [email protected] by 5pm on the Sunday of each week.
