St. Patricks club notes

September 15, 2014

Our Senior footballers drew with Eire Og Greystones in the semi final of the Coogan Hardware Senior Football  Championshiip. The final score was St.Patricks 1-15 and Eire Og 2-12. The game itself was very open with both teams continually attacking each other at every opportunity. The game was a lively affair and we were lucky enough to get the draw in the end. Paudge Mc Walter scored a fantastic goal to keep us in the Championship.

John Crowe,Paul Earls, Dean Healy,Richard Murphy,Tommy Kelly,Rory Marron,Brian Coen and Paudge Mc Walter all played very well.It was a good effort by all the team and the subs who came on including Chris Kavanagh,Niall Earls and Johnny Delahunt.Eire Og were five points ahead at half through the second half and we pulled back to equalise. However we need to improve if we are to reach the County Final. The Replay will take place in Aughrim on Sunday 28th of September at 3pm.

Our Junior B hurlers have reached the County final by beating Glenealy in the semi final. Considering that this is our first year in this competition, it is a great result for our hurlers. The team played fantastic hurling and well done to Pat Stapleton and Willie Fahy who are the mentors in charge of this team.Time and venue of the final is still to be confirmed and we will update everyone when this is confirmed.
We are having a Past Players Social Evening in the clubhouse on Saturday next the 20th of September at 8pm. Take a trip down memory lane with players and members of yesterday and don't forget to bring your Scrapbooks.
We extend our deepest sympathy to the family of Mary Ann Rice R.I.P.  ( nee Tolan) who sadly passed away on September 12th peacefully. Our sincere condolences to Cassandra Dunne her daughter and Megan Dunne her grand- daughter who are both esteemed members of our club.
