An Tóchar GAA Club Notes

September 08, 2014

Well done to u12 boys who had 2 good wins last week over Donard and Eire Og. Its very encouraging to see some new stars emerging this year to compliment the boys who have been starring for a few years. Niall Byrne and Rowan Fulvio got crucial goals vs Eire Óg while  Cian Timmons,  Ben Staunton, Piaras Morris,  Ciaran Murphy , Robert Byrne, Darragh Tierney, Luke Kenny were other lads who caught the eye .

Well done to John Power who reffed one of the Eire Óg games.
Well done to u12 girls who won their second game in the Co B Championship and are the only An Tochar team in a Co Final this year so far. Best on the night were Eve , Alannah, Ruth, Amy, Sinead, Layla and Aoife. (Maria Gorman's bursts up the pitch are like her grandfather in Cunningham's field a few years ago!!). good luck in the final.
Hard luck to our u16s who lost their Championship match vs Enniskerry in a thriller Friday night by one point. We were 9 points down at one stage and battled back to briefly lead. Best on the night were Jake Power, jack Mockler, John Kavanagh, Joe Mc Laughlin Seamus Carr, Rory Byrne, Shane Keenan and Luke Power whose left foot was a joy to look at.
Hard luck to our Senior team who despite working hard suffered a defeat to Coolkenno away last Saturday. They have one game in the league left which is against Kilmac in Roundwood, fixture is yet to be confirmed.
The club extends its sympathy to the Cullen family , Laragh on the death Florrie Cullen.
Please support our club fundraiser, the 99 Dart Challenge where representative from all teams from U-8 to Minor, girls and boys will throw 9 darts each and you are invited, for a small fee, to guess the total scored with all 99 darts, for details of the throwers and much more go to www.antochargaa.ie.
