The intermediates booked their place in the championship semi's with a gutsy and battling performance against neighbours Ballinacor. Trailing by a point at the break, the lads put in a solid second half, particularly the final quarter, restricting Ballinacor to four points and a peno. Overall we had purple patches the last 5mins in both halves which was key to getting us over the line. A well taken goal just before halftime was a particular tonic, as it got us back in the game when Ballinacor were in the ascendancy. In the end we won on a score line 1-16 to 2-12. Next up are Dunlavin, the weekend of Sept 13/14th. While the lads will be happy to get the win, they will know they have a good bit to work on for the semi. There was no lotto jackpot winner for the draw taken on Monday 18th Aug. The numbers drawn were 1,3,6,22 with Caroline Moran, Terry Carthy, Aoife & Aine, the Whelans, June Stephenson, and Mairead Byrne. Finally, the club wish to extend its deepest sympathies to the extended family and friends of the late Sean Byrne Sleemane who passed away recently. A great servant to the club, both on and off the field, Sean will be sadly missed. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam dilis.
