​​​​​​​Wicklow hosted an Under 14 Camogie Development Blitz in Carnew Emmetts Grounds on Saturday Aug 9th. A great day's Camogie was played by 110 girls from Laois (2 teams) Meath (2 teams) as well as Kildare and 2 Wicklow teams - Blues and Yellows. Well Done to everybody who played, the people who looked after the teams, the Referees: Liam Keenan, Pat Dunne and Christy O'Rourke, the parents who provided an endless supply of refreshments and supported the players throughout the day as well as members of Carnew Emmetts Camogie Club who kept the supply lines moving! Wicklow fielded 2 teams in this 15 a side Blitz and this response from players and parents is very positive. All Teams played 3/4 games in perfect conditions before Mother Nature intervened in the last round in a most dramatic way. A cloudburst and clap of thunder ensured the fastest sprints of the day to the Clubhouse! Wicklow would like to thank all the counties who attended this Blitz and look forward to welcoming everybody to an Under 15 Blitz on Sat Sept 20 in the GAA Centre of Excellence in Ballinakill Rathdrum.
