St. Patricks GAA club notes

August 04, 2014
We had a great win in the Campus Oil League division I last week against Baltinglass. Our senior team did extremely well and indeed it was a great team performance. Paul Earls and Tommy Kelly scored some beautiful points from long range and our man to man marking was second to non.Colley Byrne pulled off some dream saves throughout the game and played a real captains role.Chico Murphy and Daragh Mc Evoy did well in centrefield as did the Duffy brothers,Stephen and Gary, especially Stephen, with his most accurate passing off the left boot. As usual Paudge Mc Walter had an inspirational game as indeed did Shane Murley. Our young guns, Johnny Delahunt,John Crowe,Conor French who scored the goal,Rory Marron and Sean O Brien all played their parts in contributing to a fine team performance. My Man of the Match Award went to Kieran Doyle for his overall catching, marking and passing performance over the entire game.It was great to see a great crowd at the game and as usual the pitch looked in great shape, thanks to Brian Finnegan.
Our Real Championship starts in five weeks and we are all looking forward to it.
