AGB Recipients of Sports Capital Grant funding

July 28, 2014
Arklow Geraldines Ballymoney GAA Club are delighted to have been a recipient of funding under the Sports Capital Programme 2014. In the context of the competition out there from other worthy sports groups and clubs, to secure such significant funding is an acknowledgement of all the hard work our members in AGB are voluntarily doing week in, week out.

The funding will be used to develop our grounds in Ballymoney, located on the outskirts of the town, including a new clubhouse facility which will cater for our growing membership levels, both male & female, particularly at Juvenile level where we place a great emphasis on ensuring our young boys and girls can enjoy their Gaelic football in a safe and fun environment. The new facility will also have the only dedicated dressing-room facilities for female players in the county.

The new development will also be open to local groups to use as we are a community focused club and work closely with other non-sporting and charitable groups in the town to foster a good community spirit.

As Chairman, fostering a healthy environment for Gaelic Games to continue to thrive in a town the size of Arklow is something I feel strongly about and if we can achieve this, I think it can only be good for the Wicklow county teams at all age groups both male and female in the long-run.
