Hollywood GAA club notes

July 21, 2014
HOLLYWOOD FAIR
Preparations for the Hollywood Fair 2014 are continuing. The Fair will take place on August 13th to August 17th and was formally launched at the recent Fashion Show in the Community Centre. The Fair Committee are looking for nominations for the King and Queen of the Fair. Work evenings take place every Wednesday in the village and all help is greatly appreciated.

HOLLYWOOD FIELD DAY
Many thanks to everyone in the community who helped out or supported the Hollywood Field Day on Sunday 13th July. The weather was lovely and a large crowd gathered to enjoy the family fun.

NEW SPONSORSHIP
Many thanks to Blessington Homes and John and Julie Traynor of Tutty's Bar and Lounge, Hollywood for the kind sponsorship of our new jerseys. The new home and away sets have made their debut in the Senior League and Championship and really look the part.

PITCH SIGNAGE
The Club are actively looking to reinvigorate the 'Pitch Signage' scheme. The scheme offers businesses the opportunity to erect an advertising sign along the pitch railing. We feel that the GAA facilities are used by a range of community members and the wider area and represent a good opportunity for advertising for local business. If anyone wishes to get more information, please contact Keith Burke or Seamus Tutty at 087 8264606.

JUVENILE COACHING
Coaching for our school going children including nursery continues every Thursday evening from 7pm to 8pm sharp.

WICKLOW GRAND DEVELOPMENT DRAW 2014
Thank you to all who purchased tickets from the club for this draw back in March and April. The 3rd and final draw was held in Aughrim at half time in the Wicklow v Offaly game. No winners were linked to Hollywood GAA in this draw. Vanessa Harney from Donard Glen won the top €10,000 prize.

ADULT FOOTBALL

A mixed weekend of results for our adult teams in the Championship. Our Junior team lost narrowly to Avoca in Avondale on Saturday evening in the first Junior 'B' Championship group game. A great effort by everyone involved. The team will face Tinahely in a key group game in the next few weeks. Our Senior team advanced in the Championship backdoor by defeating Arklow Gers Ballymoney in lovely conditions at Aughrim on Sunday afternoon to reach the last 12. The draw for the next round will take place in the next few weeks.
