ARP withdraw from senior hurling

July 10, 2014
The management of Arklow Rock Parnells have decided to withdraw from senior hurling with immediate effect.

Their withdrawal, which leaves no senior hurling club in one of Wicklow's biggest towns, means that just seven teams will be left in the county SHC.

The club has been an integral part of hurling in the Garden County for almost half a century, wining six SHCs, the most recent in 1985.

The green and white jersey was last seen on county final day in 1987 and the club had been struggling at the top grade in recent years.

The hope is that ARP can regroup at a lower grade and come back sooner rather than later.
