U-8 Boys
The under 8 boys, had a great training session this week, focusing on the last weeks blitz, to help improve areas of their games. Over 25 boys took part on Saturday morning, and a lot of serious work was done and great fun had too, bring on Shilleagh on the 10th May, Go AGB

U-9 and U-10 Boys
This week is the GAA National Go Games week, our U9's and U10's took part on Thursday 17th in Ballinakill, Rathdrum. Two great teams took part and they got an opportunity to play against other teams from all around the county that they would normally not meet at a blitz. The boys came up against some fierce opposition but they showed great skills and ability, these boys are only back training for a month and they are showing great promise for the season. Thanks to all the boys, mentor and parents for making the trip.

U-12 Girls Division 1
On Thursday 17th the U-12 Division 1 girls were at home to St Pats. St Pats were by far the stronger team running out easy winners, but AGB fought throughout the game and although beaten on the day know that they are getting better and have a fighting spirit.

U-14 Girls
Wicklow U-14 Girls had a big win in the championship over Kilkenny down in Thomastown on Sat 19th. Well done to our 6 girls who all played their part in this fine victory, Zoe Tackas, Annmarie Keegan, Meadbh and Muireann O'Connor, Aine O'Reilly and Clodagh Healy.

U-16 Boys
Agb U16 Boys played their first league game Monday against Blessington winning by 4-15 to 1-5. They won their second game on Friday against Avondale 5-16/ 1-5. Well done to the lads on the county U16 squad who played two games this week against Westmeath & Wexford won both. A bit too hectic for the start of the season with 4 games in 7 days.

AGB Senior and Junior Ladies
AGB Senior Ladies suffered a heavy defeat in the Senior Leinster League on Wednesday 16th April 2014. The ladies travelled to Shelmaliers in Wexford to take on the Wexford champions. The game was played at an electric pace with championship fit Shelmaliers leaving the Arklow side standing as they moved forward with strength, speed and determination. The final score 9-12 to 2-13 illustrated the gap between the sides but the Arklow management will take a lot of positives from the way in which the girls battled and managed to breach the Wexford defence on several occasions, taking some superb scores. The ladies were treated to some warm Wexford hospitality after the game and now look forward to taking on Ballylinan at home in the next round. That game is scheduled for 7.30pm on April 22nd in Ballymoney.
The Junior Ladies took on Castletown Minors in a friendly on Friday 18th April and a very sporting game was enjoyed by players and spectators alike on a beautiful, sunny evening in Pearse Park. Castletown got the upper hand on the day but again a lot of learning took place. New members on the panel are settling in and improving steadily, while the experienced ladies, as usual, led by example. The final score was 4-7 to 5-15 in favour of the Wexford side.
On Saturday 19th April the county U16s take on Laois in an effort to secure third place in the Leinster Division 1 Championship. Regardless of the outcome these two teams will be playing each other in the B final later in the season. Meath and Dublin topped the group and will play the A final. Kildare and Westmeath will compete in the C final. Annie Conroy, Ciara Forde and Chloe O'Reilly represent AGB on the U16 county panel.
