The U13's had 45 players attend a coaching session in Ballinakill last Saturday morning from 11-12:30. The players experienced five different drills each with each drill focusing on a different aspect of their game. The hope is that as the sessions progress more players will be encouraged to attend.
Please note that the U13 squad will be using dressing rooms 5&6 in Ballinakill for the remainder of the year unless otherwise informed. These are the dressing rooms at the front of the building. The U13 pitch will be the pitch on the right hand side as you drive into the facility.
The U14's trained with 39 on Saturday in Ballinakill as preparations for the first game continue. The squad has been unfortunate at the moment with 8 player currently out injured. On the plus side many of these were able to utilise the Academy's on-site physio to increase recovery times. Next session for the U14's is this Saturday at 11.30am in Ballinakill- all players welcome to attend.
The GCA U15's had a coaching session with 27 players working extremely hard throughout the session. With a number of games coming up competition for places is really strong.
The U16's are beginning to step their training up at had a strength and conditioning session last Wednesday in Ballinakill and again had a full coaching session on the Saturday. The Saturday session focused on speed work, defense work and support play. The U16's will train again tonight 7th April and again on Saturday morning 12th April with both sessions taking place in Ballinakill.
The Garden County Academy is delighted to announce that Colin O'Brien from Wicklow Town has agreed to assist the GCA with any graphic design work required. Colin will be instrumental in designing all of the branded material that will be promoting the GCA in the coming weeks, months and years. Welcome aboard Colin!
