Lee, Billy

October 30, 2013
The club wishes to convey its sympathy to the Lee family on the death of Billy Lee who was interred in Baltinglass cemetery on Friday. Billy was a great supporter of hurling especially his native County Tipperary. He saw the need for promoting juvenile hurling back in 1973 when our club won the first ever Junior hurling championship. He donated the Lee Cup for juvenile hurling in the national schools, which was a wonderful success, especially for our club as we won the first final in 1974 with a team from Talbotstown and Tynock School. Rathcoyle won at least 12 Lee Cup finals and it put hurling on the map for our club since its introduction.
To his daughters, sons, brother and sister, relatives and friends our sympathy and may the blue and gold rest with you.
