The death took place on Wednesday of Margaret O'Brien, mother of former county Chairman Andy O'Brien. Her funeral took place on Monday after mass in St Mark's Church, Springfield, Tallaght for burial along with her late husband in Saggart cemetery.
County Chairman Martin Coleman led a large contingent of mourners from Wicklow County Board of the GAA at the funeral.
Andy wishes to say a particular thanks to officers of the Kilkenny County Boards, Ned Quinn and Paul Kinsella for attending. Dunlavin GAA club and other clubs throughout the county were also out in force. Top officers from Croke Park and Leinster council were there to sympathise with a bereaved colleague.
