Brendan Murphy will make his first competitive start for Carlow since last year's league campaign against Wicklow this evening.

The experienced Rathvilly clubman, who missed the 2019 championship due to suspension, is named at centre-back for the Allianz League Division 4 clash at Netwatch Cullen Park.

Eire Og duo Sean Gannon and Jordan Morrissey and Kildavin-Clonegal's Daniel St Ledger are notable absentees from Turlough O'Brien's starting 15.

Carlow (Allianz FL Division 4 v Wicklow): Robbie Molloy; Mikey Bambrick, Shane Redmond, Niall Roche; Simon Doyle, Brendan Murphy, Stephen Reilly; Sean Murphy, Ray Walker; Paul Broderick, Darragh Foley, John Murphy; Diarmuid Walshe, Eoghan Ruth, Darragh O'Brien.

The Allianz Football and Hurling Leagues are back this weekend and so is the Hogan Stand Match Tracker. Join us this evening and Sunday afternoon for live score and updates from the opening rounds.
