Juniors – Our Junior A team drew with An Tochar in the JAFC Final in Ashford on Sat 12 Oct. Blessington were leading at half time 0-07 to 0-04. Full-time score was level at 0-08 each so the teams will have to do it all again in 3 weeks-time. Scorers: K. Quinn 0-4, E. Devlin 0-2, E. Higgins 0-1, S. Mescall 0-1. There was great support on Sat so when the date and venue are confirmed it would be terrific to have everyone supporting our Juniors.

Juveniles

U15’s – The U15's played Bray in the U15 championship final on Sat 12 Oct in An Tochar. Bray got off to a flying start with 2 early goals. Blessington got it back to a 3-point game at half time and could have been ahead with chances created. The lads dominated the second half creating a lot of chances and scored 1:05 to 0:04 in the half leaving it all square at 1:10 to 2:7 at full time, ended in a draw and had to go to extra time. Early goals in either half of extra time sealed the game for Bray. A game we left behind us in normal time. It’s been a good year in both League and Championship both in and off the field. Great to see so many of the traveling U15s down to the Juniors match after the game and hope to see them all back at it next year again.

U13’s – Hard luck to our U13 Div 1 squad who lost to St Nick's on Sat 12 Oct in the Shield Final on a scoreline of 4.08 to 2.08. We were 1.5 to 0:4 points behind at half time. We battled well in the second half and were level at one stage. But Nicks took more goal chances in the second half to win the match. Well done to all our players and management. And thanks to all parents who supported lads on with early morning match.

U11’s Dick Allen Cup – Annacurra v Blessington Blue on Sun 13 Oct. Blessington won on a scoreline of 58 – 31 and meet Dunlavin in the Final at 11am in Dunlavin on Sun 20 Oct. Please support this great bunch of lads.

U11’s Ray Daniels Cup – Blessington lost out in the semis to Tinahely 27 to 18 on Sun 13 Oct. Hard luck to all.  Tinahely and St Kevins now meet in the Final on Sun 20 Oct.

U9’s – The lads are taking part in floodlit blitz in West Wicklow for Oct. They, along with 9 other teams took part on 9 Oct. The rules will alter each week to encourage different skills and allow the players to make different decisions in scenarios which they wouldn't usually face.

Academy – Only a couple of weeks left of our academy.  We will wind up on Sat 26 Oct. If your child is 4 or over, please send them down to the astro at 10am on Sat to try out for free.

Rounders - Blessington GAA are looking at the possibility of starting Rounders teams for juvenile ages (boys & girls). It's an official GAA sport and even has own Féile. If any parent is interested in training and attending coaching, please contact Kevin Gilmore on 0872324197.
