Avondale 0-12

A brace of Dean Healy goals helped defending champions St Patrick's to a comfortable victory over Avondale in the first of the Wicklow SFC semi-finals in Aughrim.

The Wicklow town outfit, who defeated Rathnew after a replay in last year's final, await the winners of tomorrow's semi-final between Blessington and Arklow Geraldines-Ballymoney in the decider.

Avondale led by 0-7 to 0-6 coming up to half-time thanks to points from Oisin and Conor McGraynor, Ross Ward and Conor Byrne, but Healy's first major sent St Patrick's into the break with a 1-6 to 0-7 lead.

Tommy Kelly grabbed a quick 1-1 after the restart and John Crowe also split the posts as the holders opened up a double-scores advantage, 2-8 to 0-7. And it was all over bar the shouting when county captain Healy fired in his second goal.
