Rathnew Gaa 1885 is the clubs one and only official Facebook page. Any other page with our name has nothing to do with our club is not run by anyone in our club.

We had no winner of the lotto jackpot on the 26th August. Numbers 2, 8, 16, 23. The nursery continues every Saturday morning at 11.15 and it's for all kids aged 3 upwards so feel free to bring your little ones up and give it a try. We have nicks and socks ages 4 to 10 for sale at Saturday morning training. 

In the All Ireland tickets draw Charles Merrigan won the two All Ireland football final tickets with Thomas Byrne winning one ticket while Jessica Moxley winning gym membership. Thanks to everyone who bought tickets for the draw. 

The minors got their championship campaign off to a winning start beating Tinahely 5-13 to 1-09. They got the crucial goals in the second half after a sluggish first half in a match that had a real championship edge with both teams finishing with 14 players. Next up for the lads is An Tochar away on Wednesday 9th September then Eire Og in Ballinakill on Wednesday 23rd in their final group match. 

The under 14 girls had a great bonding day in hidden valley on Saturday as they get ready for their championship semi final which is on this Saturday at 12 against St. Nicks in Rathnew. Let's try get up there and support the girls. Well done to the 13 under 10 girls who played in a blitz in Wicklow Town on Saturday playing some great football. 

The under 15s have two championship matches this week firstly playing Eire Og away on Wednesday at 7 then play St. Nickolas at home on Saturday at 4.30. The under 11 reds are away to Dunlavin on Wednesday at 7 while the greens are away to Kilmac also at 7 on Wednesday. The under 13s are home to Baltinglass on Monday at 7 in the championship. 

The Junior B team have been drawn against Knockananna in the quarter final of the championship which is fixed for Thursday September 12th at 7.45 in Avondale. The seniors are fixed to play Avondale in the championship quarter final on Sunday September 15th in Aughrim at 5.15 while before that the intermediate team have a relegation playoff against Ballinacor at 3.30. 

The club sends its condolences to the family and friends of Jimmy Franey who sadly passed away last week. May he rest in peace.
