Ballymanus club notes

August 26, 2019

After a 1-14 to 10pt victory over Ballinacor on Tuesday night in Baltinglass, the intermediates championship dream ended in Bray on Saturday evening against Laragh on a scoreline 2-14 to 12pts. The lads will regret a poor second half display and some poor shooting in the first half after going in at the break leading by 2pts (10pts to 1-5). Tiredness may have been a factor in the closing stages but really the lads just never fired at all in the second half. The club would like to thank trainer Ciaran Walshe, team manager Billy Byrne; selector Micheal Stapleton and all the players for their efforts during the year. Congratulations to Tara, Orla and all the crew who made the Ice Cream party in aid of Down Syndrome Ireland a huge success last weekend. Thank you to all who sponsored prizes for the raffle (The Beauty Spot, Woodside Nurseries, The Saltee, Byrnes Stores Londis, The Grainestore, Bouncy Castles RUs, Paddy Phelans, Pescegrande, Arklow Bay Hotel, William Tyrrell, Pure Beauty By Nicola, Michael Healy, Mairead O'Neill,
Super Value Wicklow); gave donations on the day; and to the various clubs for providing the football entertainment. Thanks to Brian and Kevin for providing the grub; Gerry, Sean, Mary and all for the clean up and manning the races, all who served out tea's; ice-cream or sold raffle tickets on the day.Well done all. Finally the club would like to extend its deepest sympathies to Tom, James, Ester, Paul, Paddy, all the extended family and friends of the Jim McDonald who sadly passed away recently. Ar dheis De go raibh a ainm dilis.
