A great night was had by all in the newly refurbished Arklow Bay Hotel function room for the St Patrick's GAA Club Annual Dinner Dance on Saturday 9th March at 8pm.  Music provided by Quest by Ted kept everyone dancing until the early hours of the morning with the highlight been Collie Byrne's rendition of Allez, Allez, Allez! A fun night was had by all with some unique memories with the Magic Mirror. Sean O'Brien was inducted into the St. Patrick's Hall of fame to join other St Patrick's sporting greats Andy Phillips (RIP), Pat "Rasher" Roche, Shem Furlong (RIP) and Gerry Farrell. Awards on the night were as follows:

Special guest on the night were County Chairman Martin Fitzgerald and County Football Manager John Evans. 

Martin Fitzgerald and John Gill presented the presentation box with both medals and programs to the Senior footballers. Thank you to Alan O'Brien and Colin O'Brien for the presentation box.

Congratulations to all involved with Wicklow County Senior Hurlers who are the Allianz Division 2B Champions 2019 with an excellent result at Inniskeen. Full time score: Wicklow 1-09 Derry 0-08. Well done to our own Andy O'Brien.

 

Our County Wicklow U-14 Ladies just came back from being 6 points down at halftime in the Leinster Championship to record a 9 point win over Louth in a windswept Carlingford. Huge well done to the team, management and parents on a job well done especially our own Kayleigh and Eva. 

 

Congratulations to all involved with the county minor ladies especially our own captain Sinead, Sarah, Lucy, Amy, Emer, Aoife and Five Goal Niamh and mentor Nicola McGettigan against Kilkenny in Ballinakill. Full time score: Wicklow 10-17 Kilkenny 1-02

 

Best of luck to all involved with Wicklow Schools on Saturday March 16th where they will face either Colaiste Eoin or CBS Naas in the Leinster Schools Final. Venue to be confirmed. Best of luck to our own Patrick O'Keane and Padge McWalter (Selector). 

A busy weekend for U13 hurling with Bray Emmets hosting us for a friendly on their 3G pitch on Friday evening. On Sunday we made our way to Setanta in Carlow town, encountering all weather conditions en route. Thankfully we came away with a win on a scoreline of 3-8 to 3-3, and now meet St. James from Wexford next weekend to try and go out of our Leinster league group as the second qualifier.

All club coaches who are involved with teams from U7 - U17 in Hurling & Football must wear the Give Respect Get Respect Bibs when coaching from the sideline during 2019.

Our sincere condolences to the family of James Johnson (St. Dominick's Road, Wicklow Town) who passed away peacefully at the Blackrock Hospice, Dublin on the 5th March 2019. Loving son of the late Wally and Sarah Johnson, brother of the late George and Danny; sadly missed by his loving son James Jnr, brothers Jack and Wally, sisters Anne, Catherine, Margaret and Sadie, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and friends.
