Rathnew Club Notes

Rathnew Gaa 1885 is the clubs one and only official Facebook page. Any other page with our name has nothing to do with our club is not run by anyone in our club.

 

All adult membership is now overdue. Bobby will be in the clubhouse every Tuesday and Thursday from 7pm collecting money. 

 

With the season starting for all teams any club gear can be bought on the Rathnew shop on the O'Neill's website or just follow the link on our Facebook page.

 

The club has replaced and upgraded the equipment in the gym and its looking great. The membership for the gym is the cheapest around so if your interested contact Bobby 0851115514. Existing members please be aware that the code for the gym cannot be passed around and must stop immediately.

 

There was no winner of the lotto jackpot on the 4th March. Numbers 3, 11, 14, 23. 3 match 3 Paul O'Connor c/o Ross O'Brien, Ned Murphy c/o Rockies, Michelle & Beth O'Connor c/o Sean O'Connor. At the time of writing the jackpot stands at €9,800. Get your tickets from Doyle's, The Arches, The Village Inn, Rockies, Healy's Mini Market, View hair & beauty, Malone's, Dowling's Butchers and Centra every Friday and Saturday evening from 5.30pm. 

 

A massive thanks to SKC Providers Limited for once again coming on board as the main sponsor for our senior teams and their contribution towards the spiking and sanding of the main pitch with work starting shortly. We hope that all our members and supporters will support not only SKC but all our sponsors in the coming year.

 

The 2019 Kellogg's cul camp dates have been released. Rathnew will be hosting it the week starting the 12th of August. It's always a brilliant week for the kids so book early on kelloggsculcamps.gaa.ie or follow the link on our Facebook page.

 

Well done to Warren, Danny and the two Gary's and the rest of the county senior hurling team on winning the national league final against Derry on Sunday. A great effort from everyone involved and hopefully it will lead onto a good run in the Christy Ring cup. 

 

Hard luck to our ladies junior team who lost their first match together against Newtown on Sunday. It's only the beginning for this team and with plenty more matches ahead this young team will only get better. Well done to all involved and keep up the great work. 

 

Well done to Anna Dignam and the rest of the county u14 ladies team on a brilliant comeback win away to Louth on Saturday in the Leinster championship. 

 

Our senior team are playing Hollywood at home on Sunday morning at 11. The intermediate team are fixed to play Ballinacor this weekend also please check fixtures for details.

 

All coaches in the club have to be Garda vetted. It can be done online through the Gaa.ie website or follow the link on our Facebook page. It only takes a few minutes to complete. 

 

The fundraising committee are holding a poker classic in Doyle's on good Friday 19th April. More details to follow in the weeks ahead and also an Easter raffle with sponsor cards for all kids to be handed out at training.
