Wicklow county board have confirmed that Kevin O’Brien will remain in charge of the county’s minor footballers in 2019.

O’Brien oversaw a hugely successful 2018 campaign which saw the young Garden men run to a Leinster semi-final after defeating Westmeath, Louth, Dublin and would-be-winners Meath, respectively, before eventually losing out to Kildare after a replay.

“Wicklow GAA have reappointed Kevin O’Brien as Manager of the Minor Football Team for the 2019 season,” a county board statement read.

“Kevin, one of Wicklow’s most decorated footballers, will look to continue the great work done in 2018 when Wicklow reached the Leinster Minor Semi-Final.

“Building on the positive developments in the Garden County Academy squads over the past number of years is a key priority for Wicklow GAA in 2019.”
