The Wicklow U20 football championship continued on Sunday 18th November in Avondale where St Patrick’s took on the hosts Clara Gaels in the championship quarter final. On a beautiful morning for football both sides played open football with James Byrne opening the scoring for St. Patricks. On the twenty minutes a move starting in the full back line St. Patricks moved the ball the length of the pitch with some fantastic interplay which ended with Jack Dunne finding the net. Half-time score St. Patricks 1-05 Clara Gaels 0-06. Playing into the dressing room goal in the second half the lads started brightly with Cian O’Brien finding the net. A good all round team display saw the lads close out the game as deserving winners with the Full time score St. Patricks 3-09 Clara Gaels 1-10.

Congratulations to Captain Holly McSorley and all involved with the Dominican Convent Wicklow Junior team that beat Loreto Bray on Friday at Dunbur, St .Pats GAA ground in the Quarterfinal of the girls’ Junior "A" football championship. DCW lead by 4-07 to 0-1 at half time, after playing with the aid of a strong wind. A very strong and well drilled Dominican Convent side were victorious with the full time score: DCW 6-16 Loreto Bray 2-04.
Dominican College Wicklow will now play Blessington Community College in the semi-final. Thank you to referee Eddie Leonard.

Orders for DVD's of the Senior Football Final are now being taken. A DVD of the final replay is available for €10 or alternatively a DVD of both the drawn final plus the replay can be purchased for €15. To order please text your name and which DVD you wish to purchase to 087 6214903 on or before Friday 23rd November. An order will be placed with the supplier after this date based on the orders received by text.
Please note every Wednesday from November 7th for the next 6 weeks the St. Patrick’s Club Gym is unavailable from 7:45-9:15pm due to the County U15 lads using the gym.
Wicklow GAA Coaching and Games Development have a Foundation Football course coming up this month. The course is open to anyone interested in getting involved in coaching. A coaching qualification is mandatory for anyone who wants to coach in 2019.

Sean Cox fundraiser: Meath football manager Andy McEntee is looking forward to next month's challenge against Dublin, joking that even a game of marbles between the rival counties would be competitive.
The anticipated sell-out encounter at Navan's Pairc Tailteann will take place on December 16 with all gate receipts going to the Sean Cox fund. McEntee is a club-mate of former St Peter's, Dunboyne chairman Cox who suffered serious injuries during an attack before a Champions League game involving Liverpool and Roma last April.

Our sincere condolences to the family of Patrick (Paddy) Marah of Dunbur Park in Wicklow Town and late of Rathnew who passed away 17th November 2018 peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Angela and much-loved father of Damien, Brian, Peter, Sandra and Fergal and adored grandad of Paul, Katie, Luke, Emma, Aoife, Conor, Erin and Scott. He will be sadly missed by his daughters in law Sylvia, Siobhan and Tara, son in law Shane, extended family and friends.
