Mini All Irelands - The Clubs’ Mini All Irelands took place on Tues 18 and Fri 21 Sep with nearly 200 kids participating.  Six teams took part in the U8 competition and four each in the U10 and U12 competitions.  There was great football played on both nights. The U8 finals were as follows, Kerry V Tyrone in the Plate with Tyrone coming out on top. Cork played Mayo in the Shield final with Mayo winning. The U8 All Ireland Final was contested by Dublin and Wicklow with Wicklow, managed by John Magee and Sinead Johnston winning.

U10's - Tyrone played Dublin and Wicklow played Mayo in the U10 semi-finals.  The Shield final was contested by Mayo and Dublin with Mayo winning on the night. The U10 All Ireland Final was a clash of Tyrone and Wicklow with Gavin Murray and Sorcha Nolan's Tyrone putting in a great performance to win.

U12's - U12 semi-finals saw Mayo play Wicklow and Tyrone play Dublin.  Tyrone played Wicklow in the Shield final with Tyrone prevailing.

The All Ireland Final was a tough encounter between Mayo and Dublin with Dublin managed by Mikey O'Connor beating the fancied Mayo team in an excellent Final. The Sam Maguire cup (the real one) was presented to the deserved winning Dublin team. A big thanks to everyone who helped out with organising pitches, managing teams and refereeing matches on the two nights.  Finally, big thanks to all the boys and girls who took part in and enjoyed another successful Mini All Irelands.

U17’s – Well done to the lads on a great win in the League Final in Ballinakill v St Pat’s on Fri 21 Sep. They went into the break with a 3-point lead and 1-06 to 1-03. U13’s – Football championship Plate Final Rathnew v Blessington in Ballinakill on Wed 3 Oct at 7.15pm.

U12’s –U12 F NKL Versus Clane (home) Wed 5th. U12's boys resumed the 2nd half of the North Kildare league with a home match against Clane on Wed 5th. On an overcast and damp night Blessington showed some great tackling and support play to lead against the wind at half time. The second half Clane threw everything at Blessington, but all the lads really dug in for a good win on a score of Blessington 1-14, Clane 2-7. All the squad contributed to this one and was a very entertaining game U12 F NKL Versus Nass (away) Sat 8th. U12's boys next game was versus Naas away on the 8th. Despite having the vast majority of possession especially in the first half Blessington failed to capitalise on scoring and after a long week’s sport for some, Blessington tired in the end with 13 a side playing. Nass held out to win by 1-11 to 1-8 in an entertaining game. U12's latest game was v Raheens away on the 22nd. In a good contest, but with both sides missing some gilt-edged chances in the first half, Raheens took a slight lead into the half time. Blessington held off some strong play from Raheens in the second half and produced some great defending again. Blessington worked and finished some good goal chances in the second half to win by 8pts.  One more win in the remaining two games should see a league finals playoff on 13th October. Next match is U12 Challenge versus Ballyboden at home next Sun 30. Next NKL match versus Celbridge scheduled now for Tue 2 Oct due to hurling clash this week.

Well done to all players/Coaches and parents for long traveling. U11 white squad were at home to Bray and again only had 10 players and a lot played games last night but they battled very hard especially in second half and unfortunately lost by few scores. Thanks to players coaches (And Ben had to ref never easy to do) and all parents. U11 blue squad had long trip to Eire og but thankfully they had 11 players as they had to battle very hard in second half to come away with great win.
