On Wednesday evening our Senior footballers travelled to Joule Park Aughrim to take on Blessington in the Dunne Cup Final. In an enthralling game with St. Pats playing against the wind in first half. The half time score was Blessington 1-04 St Pats 0-04 after a fantastic double save from Ian Murphy from an Anto McLoughlin penalty. St. Pats stayed out for the half time break and were the brighter team after the restart. Within eight minutes St Pats were three points up with scores from Stephen Duffy, Ciaran McGettigan and a goal from Conor Ffrench before Blessington registered their first score of the second half. A late goal by Blessington with eight minutes remaining left the bare minimum between the sides. St Pates rallied well to finish the game with a two point margin with the final score line: St Patrick's 1-13 to Blessington 2-08 and deserving winners of the Dunne Cup 2017 and 2018.
