What a week for our County teams!

Congratulations to our Senior County Ladies who on Monday 7th May were deserving Lidl Div 4 NFL Champions. From start to finish they took the game to Louth in Birr, County Offaly and were excellent value for the full time score of Wicklow 4-17 Louth 2-08. Champions. Well done to all involved especially our own Niamh McGettigan, Rose Fagan, Clodagh Fox, Saoirse O'Reilly and Mick Kavanagh member of the management team.

On Saturday in Aughrim the County hurlers welcomed Mayo in the first round of the Christy Ring cup. A dominant first half performance from Wicklow laid the foundation for a deserving victory with a final score of  Wicklow 1-20 Mayo 2-11. Congratulations to all involved especially our own Andy O'Brien, George O'Brien, John Connors, Christy Moorehouse (Jnr) and Gerry Connors. Up next will be Roscommon in Athleague next weekend.

On Sunday the venue was O'Moore Park, Port Laoise for the opening game of the Leinster Championship for the County Senior Footballers against Offaly. In an intriguing game of football with long range frees and penalty saves and seven minutes of injury time the two sides could not be separated with the full time score of Offaly 1-11 Wicklow 0-14. In the first period of extra time Wicklow had turned it around to lead Offaly 1-13 Wicklow 0-19 outscoring their opponents 5 points to two. In the final ten minutes of the game Wicklow got the all-important goal by Darragh Fitzgerald to run out deserving winners with the full time score after extra time Offaly 1-15 Wicklow 1-20. Congratulations to John Evans and all involved especially our own Dean Healy, Johnny Crowe and Conor Ffrench. Up next in two weeks' time All Ireland champions Dublin, maybe in Aughrim - watch this space!

Hard luck to our County Under 16s who played their hearts out on Friday evening against a very impressive Longford side in the Leinster LGFA U16 Championship Final. Victory was not to be but they never let up, We thank the players especially our own County captain Lucy Dunne and Níamh Caffrey, their mentors Tim Kelly, Rosie Coffey and Shayne Murphy for their work throughout the year.

Well done to the Senior Ladies who travelled to Blessington on Saturday evening for their League game. A strong performance saw the girls home with a deserved victory with a final score line of: Blessington 3-07 St. Patrick's 3-17

Our Intermediate Ladies made the trip to Pearse Park, Arklow on Sunday to take on AGB in the league. In a tight game St Patricks ran out winners with the final score AGB 2-08 St Patrick's 4-03. A Big thank you to the three U16's Aishling Walsh, Eva Phelan and super sub Holly McSorley for helping the girls out, Holly put the ball in the back of AGB net to secure a win.

Well done to the under 10 girls who played great football in sunny Arklow on Saturday morning against Carnew, AGB and Baltinglass.

On Saturday our U8 Ladies team took part in their first blitz in Arklow. Well done to all the girls and the management Brian McSorley, Maria Lalor, Sarah Evans.

Well done to the Senior Hurlers who had a fantastic win against Ballygarret (Wexford) in the Leinster Hurling League Quarter Final in Dunbur in Saturday evening. Special mention to our county representatives who travelled back after beating Mayo. The Lads will now contest the Leinster Senior League Club Hurling Semi- Final. Date, time and venue to be confirmed

Our Intermediate Hurlers had an excellent result against Kilcoole in Kilcoole on Tuesday evening with a final score of Kilcoole 2-18 St Patrick's 4-19.

On Wednesday our Junior Hurlers welcomed Avondale to Dunbur but came up short with the full time score of St Patrick's 2-08 Avondale 3-10.

Well done to all our U7 footballers have been busy with go games in Enniskerry on Friday night and training in sunny Dunbur on Saturday morning. Players Of The week were Mikey O'Neill and Kai Murphy.

Well done to our U7 hurlers who with the good weather were enjoying the sunshine at St. Pat's national school on Tuesday evening with their skills improving each week none more so than players Of The week Ruairi Keating and Ben Morrissey.

Congratulations to all involved with CCM First year boys football who took on St Kevins in the A Semi Final last week. At half time St. Kevins were leading by 7-02 to C. C. M 3-06. A seconf half performance from CCM turned the game around with a full time score of:: C.C.M. 7-17 (38) St. Kevins 8-07 (31). C.C.M. will now play Colaiste Bhride in the A first year Final. Date and venue to be confirmed

All Club Golfers note a date for your dairy: The annual St Patrick's GAA Golf Classic is booked for 16th June in Wicklow Golf Club.

Our development committee now have the Greenhill Road Playing Pitches Planning Application drawings on view for all members in the Clubhouse. Committee members will be available on Saturday mornings to discuss the application. All members are welcome to view the club's future!

Our "Little Warriors" will continue on Saturdays at 10am for Boys and Girls age 4-6. Fun games, getting to meet new friends and learning new skills, are what our nursery is all about. We look forward to welcoming those back from last year and meeting our new recruits!

There is a Referees course for New referees run by Wicklow Ladies Football on Saturday / Sunday the 26th and 27th of May the cost for the course is € 30 which includes referees gear following completion of course. Congratulations to all who took part in Darkness into Light in Wicklow Town on Saturday Morning May 12th. A fantastic turn out of young and old. A special mention to our own Hall of Fame legend Pat Rasher Roche who completed the 5K. Thank you to all who put in a fantastic effort in organising a wonderful event celebrating the 10th year of the Darkness into Light. The event is supported again this year by Electric Ireland. Darkness Into Light began in 2009 when 400 people came together in Dublin's Phoenix Park to raise awareness about suicide and self-harm

Our sincere condolences to the family of Jordan Quinn (Wicklow Town & Rathnew, Co.
