Wicklow manager John Evans admits that the main focus for them at present is to build a team for the year ahead.

Evans was speaking to the Wicklow People ahead of their clash against Division Four title favourites Laois this coming Sunday afternoon.

The Kerry native acknowledges the fact that it will be a tough test against the O'Moore County in Joule Park, but added that it was important to build on their performance against Antrim last time out.

"We're looking to build a team here. We battled well against Antrim and it was great to see but that can't be a once-off, we need consistency in our game," said Evans.

"We've already faced Antrim who would be one of the top three teams in the division, but Laois would probably be the table-toppers. It is a huge challenge and we'll be looking to make an impression against them."
