St. Patrick's Club notes - 27th November 2017

Congratulations to our U16 girls Lucy Dunne, Niamh Caffrey, Jess Lyons, Naoise O'Reilly, Siobhan Gorman and Zoe Armstrong who were selected to represent County Wicklow at U16 level for 2018.

Hard luck to our neighbours and Wicklow Champions Rathnew who bowed out of the Leinster championship in their semi-final with Moorefield in Aughrim. It finished 2-13 to 2-07. Well done to Rathnew who created a little buzz of excitement and belief in Wicklow football again.

Well done to our own Eddie Leonard who did an excellent job on his first live broadcast for East Coast FM commentating on Sunday's Leinster Championship semi-final in Aughrim between Rathnew and Moorefield.

We wish our neighbours and Wicklow County Champions Glenealy all the best in the Leinster Hurling Final next Sunday when they take on the Kilkenny Champions St. Patrick's Ballyragget.

St Patrick's Juvenile AGM took place on Monday 20th November at 8pm in the Clubhouse. Alan Lawlor chaired the meeting with Brian Gleeson giving an excellent report on the Juvenile activities within the club in the last year. Congratulations to Alan, Brian, Paddy, Brian and Paul who all retained their positions on the Juvenile committee.

St Patrick's Ladies held their AGM on Thursday 23rd November at 8pm in the Clubhouse. A good attendance on the night saw a new committee elected. Thank you to Caroline Courtney, Stephen McNulty, Nicola McGettigan and Katherine Fox for all their efforts over the last number of years. On the night the following positions were filled: Secretary Tara O'Gorman, Treasurer Mary Phelan, Registrar Peggy King with Sarah Delahunt. Ami Healy will be assisting with Club PRO.

St Patrick's Ladies Juvenile Presentation took place on Saturday 25th November in the Clubhouse at 12noon to allow families to part take in the festive activities taking place in the town specifically the switching on of the Christmas Lights in the afternoon. International Athlete Erinn O'Brien with Club Captain Sarah Delahunt made the presentations to all who attended. Thank you to all who volunteered to decorate the hall and assist in the smooth running of the event.

Please note every Wednesday from 7-9pm the GCA County U15 train in the gym until Christmas.

St. Patrick's GAA Club needs volunteers. Due to the retirement of John Smith and Patrice Evans from their roles in club communication we are looking for the right candidates to take over, ideally you require knowledge of social media. Training can be provided if you can spare a few hours a week and have an interest in St Patrick's GAA?

Wicklow GAA are running a Football Foundation Coaching Course in Glenart College Arklow on Saturday 2nd and 9th December. The course will run from 10.00am to 2.30pm on both days. Coaches must attend both days to complete the course. Please contact Garrett Doyle Wicklow GAA if interested.

All funds from this draw will go to the new pitch and we will use this as the main fundraising event this year for the new development, so it is vital for the success of this project that you give as much support as you can.

Please return the completed tickets and your payment to any member of the Club Committee or the Manager/Administrator of your team or drop into Alan O'Brien at Dooley Poynton Auctioneers or Brian O'Connor in Next Door Abbey St.
