No respect for camogie team??
horsebox and anyone else who is goin on about this "camogie" team.
At the end of the day, the entermainment value of camogie is nil, maybe thats why nobody goes to the games apart from their mothers . its not exactly a big achievement to get to the final, i actually wonder how they arent in it every year, there's more competition in an under 8's hurling blitz.
Sure half the team cant even pick up the ball.I think the camogie people(which cant be too many) should get off their cloud and realise that GAA is a mans sport.

I agree with what you are saying Saint 32, buts not just about money. Its the attitude, the girls are happy with their sandwich they dont need to be molly coddled. Our hurlers are going to end up like the soccer players pampered to the last.
Our women are above all the crap, they train, they hurl, they win. No pampering just guts and determination abound. Media to blame they dont give the women a look in they just give it lip service. Sunday game just showing a small snippet of the camogie and talk for ages on hurling and football.
When you think about it half the GAA clubs in the county wouldnt survive without the administration and work behind the scenes that women do.

No respect for camogie team??
well said horsebox;
you wont be the only wexford man in croke park sunday week. these girls deserve any success they get, the train just as hard as the men, have been more succesfull but yet dont get half the coverage , recoginition or publicty in the local or national papers. it makes me sick.

No respect for camogie team??
The Kop
"they dont walk around thinking they are someone special when they HAVE EARNED THE RIGHT TOO. so maybe the wasters on our mens teams should stay at home and wash their jerseys make their sambos etc................................................................ but in fairness their not good enough to lace these girls boots they should abolish hurling and football in the county whats ur medal or trophy cabinet like? id say its full of bread for them sambos u make for yourself all alone in ur 1 bedroom rent allowance supplemented shack or else ur still the mammy? "
Well said the Kop these girls have been together for a couple of years now and i've seen first hand the dedication and effort they put in year in year out and its nothing short of breath taking.....They train and play macthes with their clubs as well training with the county, it should also be pointed out many of the Intermediate and Senior players are still in College so the train with them also....These girls should be held up as role models to the youth of Wexford as they set a great example...
I hope they win both All - Ireland Finals and i hope we as a county get behind them because as both the Kop and Lannigan have touched on it will be a long time until we see our Senior Hurlers in the same position....
For those of you who know very little about the Senior Camogie team you would have to travel a fair bit to see better players than Kate Kelly, Katrina Parrock, Mary Lacey, Deidre Codd (who has been a colussus since her switch to midfield) and Cathrine O'Loughlin
Here's one Wexford man who will definitly be at Croker to cheer on the girls and i'll bring some of Nurofen's ham sambo's for the trip up

No respect for camogie team??
I agree thats unfair treatment to the women training but the reason that happens is because there is no money in camoige.
I will watch the final on tv and best of luck to the girls.
Also agree men should pay club during the summer

No respect for camogie team??
Training session in Ferns. Hurlers were training (before they exited championship) so were Senior Camogie Team after training the women went in got a sandwich the Men came in and were given a sit down hot meal with a couple of different choices. Maybe thats why they're not winning too full! Oh yes and the men didnt have to carry their own gear they had a van for that. Who are the woozies hey! Nurofen you can say what you want you are only an ignorant gob....e but then again the GAA is full of them.
The girls give their answer on the field - they are in their 2nd ALL-IRELAND (2007 & 2010) oh now where are those wonderful hurlers you are talking about Nurofen - oh yes sat at home twiddling their thumbs and watching the camogie girls in the ALL-IRELAND. WEXFORD ABU!!

A great double header in the park
Rattled the top corner? From my view point the Ferns goalkeeper should have easily saved the shot. Tommy Dwyer has easily been Ferns's most influential hurler this year. Been excellent against the Alley, Blackwater and Cushinstown. Think it's not really fair to compare PJ and Tommy. Different types of player. A lot of Tommy's work goes unnoticed but thought he was all over the field on Saturday. PJ also had a great game but they weren't really marking each other.

pj nolan had much more impact on the game than tommy dwyer, dwey offerred very little apart from placed balls. he hurled plenty of ball but pj nolan had the better of the exchanges. tha askamore midfield was excellent.sorry to burst ppls bubbles here but anybody who states that tommy dwyer is the best non oulart hurler so far this year is really taking the p...s!! must be a wind up surely? im a neutral here living within 15 mins of both clubs so im not biased in any way but pj nolans goal on saturday was pure class, burst through the entire ferns defence as if they werernt there and rattled the top corner,he influenced the game more than dwyer lads so take off your ferns tinted glasses and accept reality! that was pj nolan only playing his 2nd game in about 3 months, imagine what he could do when fully it! im not saying dwyer aint a nice hurler because he is but pj nolan is a much more complete player, stronger runner, scores alot more from play and offers real running power from midfield, himself , redmond and harry keheo if played as a trio in midfield woud cause teams serious problems!

I think you are wrong Oulartman. In fact I know you are wrong. Last year in the Park Oulart played Ballyhale and the whole place really got behind them and the disappointment was obvious after the game that everyone was hoping for them to win it. There might be a few people who dont but when they are representing the county most people want them to win. Lose the siege mentality. I agree with you that Oulart do train harder than most and are by far the best team in Wexford, but to say nobody would want to see them win is unfair.

Senior Hurling Championship
the reason oulart dont play football is clearly showing in their hurling...just like kilkenny...i think its better to be good at 1 sport than be bad in 2...oulart are not stuck up either so where do ye get that from?? on what evidence cos they win in wexford...oulart train harder than EVERY team in wexford including the county teams and dont drink for most of the hurling season bar the 1 nite here and their....this msg is not to big up oulart its to state facts...we keep to ourselfs and if we win we dont jeer or go around boasting bout it...like many clubs around do....or if we get bet we dont blame everyone else....and to be honset oulart dont expect any other ppl in wexford to vote for them for best club either...thats the prob wit wex....if oulart were to win the wex championship i no everyone wud be hoping they get bet..and if any other team won the wex championship we wud like to see them do well...i personally think with the abuse oulart ppl get from the wexford supporters they should not bother playin for wexford...instead of slating oulart try and get ur own clubs levels up and try get wexford hurling back up cos its not oularts fault its the other clubs bar 1 or 2 that wex hurling is so bad!!!

It's classified as an 'agricultural' foul! :)
And it should be treated differently; you're completely right. And I'm sure some refs do treat it differently

A great double header in the park
Tommy Dwyer is the best hurler in a very good ferns team that will undoubtedly be the only team to rival oulart as the true powerhouse of Wexford hurling. look they have always been contesting and winning underage championships with oulart all up along. these young players are maturing now and turning into serious hurlers.
You heard it here.....Ferns will beat Oulart.
Tommy Dwyer.....best Non oulart hurler so far this year. stop talkin tripe bout PJ completely outclassing him. didnt happen, and would never happen. Not now,not ever. End of!

Point taken turtle. But how do you describe a foul ( professional, cynical, personal, whatever) when a player is through on goal and is blatantly tripped by the last defender. And is that foul not more serious than a similar offence outfield ??
Cragask, thats a good report on the 4 senior games, but do you really think pj nolan "completely outclassed" tommy dwyer ?? It wasnt like that in the match that i watched !!
