Wexford v Cavan
good performances from captain graeme molloy, niall murphy, andrew shore and pj banville. improvement needed from paddy byrne and red barry. i know its early doors but it was a patchy performance.
on a side note - does anyone know if waters was carrying a yellow when he got the line?
i didn't think he was....

O Byrne Cup Shield Final in Clongeen
Think the Wex team did well, forwards need to stay deep and then midfield /half back line can just drop the ball in when we have quality forwards such as Lyng and Banville. Think P Byrne will improve if he passes the ball, tends to hang onto it for too long and tries to do it himself. Thought G Molloy was outstanding and thought Eric Bradley had a great game, great block when Cavan on for a sure goal, he just never stops running and supporting and gave some lovely balls into the forwards, esp in the first half. Shore and Chin looked good too and more games will bring more experience. Bit of a scare when Cavan came back to a point but good to see Wex not letting it get to them. Well done Wexford.. Keep it up now!

Wexford were quite lucky but pulled away well in the end when it mattered most. Thought Shore played very well, was much better than Waters. Chin was raw but Im sure he will improve. Molloy was superb, Mastersons peno save outstanding, it wasnt a bad penalty. Paddy Byrne won some great ball but looked in trohble once he had it in his hands. Adrian Flynn is no centre back.

The reason I said chin was poor is because I know what he is capable of and that's alot better first ten minutes he excelled but when got booked he waned which is natural I AM by no means writing the kid off and full expect him to be in our starting 15 come championship thus freeing a Doyle for cornor back as I feel that is where we are weakest.. I just taught today he wasn't up to what he is capable of and expect much more to come from his obvious talent..on happier note was great to see molloy nearing.his best as he had a tough time last two games and was great to see Benji nailing most of his frees as he missed the majority against laois

Think jason does too much shouting on the line it confuses the players like run there run here players looking back at him with their hands up dont know where to go,
Paddy byrne had a good first half but was poor in the second looked greedy, Chins first game give him a chance,it was a very poor cavan side and it was a poor performance from the team all round but its the first game and it will only get better.I think will will win the division.

number ten for cavan scored one point in the first half and one point in the second half after chin was taken off , chin did very well in the first half game kinda passed him by in the second half , all in all for a league debut for a 19 year old he can be proud of a good performance

Chin was bad today there number ten destroyed us.. Murphy was missed at centre back as they cut through the middle on every attack flynn hasn't got presence for centre back.. Could see Lyng and banville weren't match fit.. Was impressed with shore but seems slow to react.. All in all two points on the board but performance was good bit below what we are capable of

I would have to agree with bogstandard on this one on a case by case basis every player deserves the backing of the county board if they have been wrongly accused .Regardless of any players previous record they deserve to be back up. Kerry have back Paul Galvin in the past.

Yeah Gizzy back,I was talking to a squad member.Great to have him back,he gave his all for us for the last 7-8 years and never went hiding when teams got the better of us.His leadership will be critical for all the young players,Dunne should make him captain.
