Hurling Panel 09 any suggestions
I will hold you to that Colm, I think this year could be his year as he is currently undertaking an intense physical programme having him fit to an elite level even before he returns playing, he will be so far ahead of other players in the county he will have to get a call up

wexi GAA

People don't play GAA because its fun. Ask any player, most of them hate it, but they couldn't imagine their life without it. Its part of them, the hate/love relationship. Its what they live for ... they live for the training, parties, cheers, long bus rides, invitationals, water, lucozade, & coaches you hate but appreciate. They live for the way it feels when you beat the team next to you by 1 point in extra time & you know those 2 extra sprints you ran in training were worth it. They live for the way you become a FAMILY with your team, they live for the countless songs you sing in your head when your running all those suicides. They live for the competition, they live for the friends, the training, the memories, the pain, its who they are. It's who I am!!!

leave it out pinkie no need for dem comments

WEX V KILDARE - BYRNE CUP
was anybody up at the game in newbridge today?? was an up and down performance.. some promising displays but some poor players on display also.. a couple could be usefull additions to the squad.. wex only started 2 of last years championship team to 8 on the kildare starting 15.. some of the keepers kicking was poor, the fullback line was good for most wit malone good as usual and lawlor doing well for first game.. andreas doyle and cullen were good also.. both starting midfielders were replaced, waters replaced early and o leary tired early in 2nd half after decent display.. the forwards were poor apart from deely and young spot murphy gave a very good display getting most of wex's scores from play and frees.. i must say gary brilly was very poor and gave the ball away everytime and most attacts broke down when they reached him.. cant see him making the panel again this year..

anybody else up there have any opinions??

yeah, he had a rant last summer too.

It's hard enough reading pointless posts from people on their own forums; but listening to people from other counties doing it is too much.
Mots non-Wexford people on this forum have something interesting (or complimentary) to say so.
That lad doesn't.

Playing football in north west England
There is a new club forming in Chester called Chester Noamh Padraig. Anyone who lives in Chester and/or the surrounding areas and are interested in playing Gaelic Football drop me an email shanec2k@gmail.com. Those who travel to Manchester or Liverpool can save time and money on fuel and travelling and join this club which is extremely convenient. This club has been founded on the back of a very successful University team in Chester. Anyway people looking forward to hearing any responses , thanks Shane

get out and support your teams next year you were a disgrace this year especially towards the footballers

Louthman, you should try supporting a county that progresses in the championship, then you might have a different attitude. Wexford supporters had to travel to Croker ( 7 times ! ), Carlow, Kilkenny & Thurles for chamionship games last year -
how far did you travel ?
As for being a "disgrace towards the footballers" - most people will tell you that we are a hurling county. How many thousand Louth supporters watched your hurling team last year ?

A Successful 2009?
i,m sorry but how can anyone say were a hurling county when we get relagated in the league and dublin should ave bet us over the last 2 years hurling is on the way down and football is coming up i can c footballers doing well again this year in championship and also having a good league. hurlers wont get by first round of championship and definatly wont win the league even tho i wish both teams the very best this year but if i was a betting man i,d put my money on the footballers

Oh so there is a bit of a history here with this guy.

A Successful 2009?
Lads the footballers last year was no fluke. They definitely have the talent and there is huge competition for places on the team something that has been lacking with the hurlers for sometime now. Sure we can call ourselves a hurling county still but the footballers are in a more competitive competition and are doing better than the hurlers. Say what you like but if you can't admire the effort and unity of the current football team well I think you are being a bit small minded.
My prediction was a best case scenario. If the footballers can find the same energy and motivation as last year there is no reason why they couldn't win Div 2. WestMeath won it last year and we are on par with them so why not be a bit optimistic.
