Despite Wexford clubs failing to nominate a single person for the role of senior football manager, the county have ten interested candidates.

Add that to the nineteen that have left their names go forward for the role of senior hurling manager and the committees established to appoint new managers are set for a busy time over the coming weeks.

Wexford chairman Diarmuid Devereux revealed the exact figures interested in the roles to the Wexford People, but stressed that many did not want their names going public at the moment.

"We are looking for two managers. We are looking for someone who can manage people, manage strategy and be capable of coming before the county board," said Devereux.

"We now intend to move forward, filter through the names and bring them to the interview stage. We will come back to the management with a preferred name, and possibly a back-up name, then we will bring it to County Board for ratification."
