Wexford supremo JJ Doyle is reported to be interested in taking over the role as Wicklow senior hurling manager.

Doyle who has brought All-Ireland glory to his native county in camogie (at senior and intermediate level), plus a three-in-a-row of Leinster titles with the Wexford under-21s is rated very highly in coaching circles.

Wicklow are on the lookout for a new manager following Martin Storey's decision to step down from the position earlier this year.

Doyle would bring invaluable experience to the role, but it is believed that he may face competition from St Patrick's clubman James Quirke and Dublin's Sean Treacy.

The selection committee has been made up of St Pat's manager Michael Neary, Glenealy's Michael Anthony O'Neill, Carnew's Don Hyland and Wicklow hurling officer Sean Hayes.

However, if the Marshallstown-Castledockrell clubman is interested, he would be the front-runner for the position.
