Funeral details for Ciara Ryan

April 10, 2016

Ciara Ryan RIP.

The funeral of Ciara Ryan - the 14-year-old girl who died after collapsing during a training session in Co. Wexford on Thursday - will take place in Kilanerin tomorrow.

Many tributes have been paid to Ciara who suffered a suspected brain haemorrhage while training with the Kilanerin ladies football team in Gorey.

A paramedic, who was in attendance, delivered first aid at the scene and a local doctor also arrived within minutes. But tragically, Ciara was later pronounced dead at Wexford General Hospital.

Cíara will be reposing at Flood's Funeral Home, McDermott Street, Gorey, from 2.00pm to 7.00pm today. Removal will take place tomorrow morning at 10.15am to S.S Peter & Paul's Church, Kilanerin, for Funeral Mass at 11.00am, with burial taking place afterwards in Limbrick Cemetery, Kilanerin.

She is survived by her parents Anto and Trish, sister Éabha, brother Jack, aunts, uncles, grandparents, relatives, friends and neighbours.

A minute's silence is being observed at all Wexford GAA championship games this weekend as a mark of respect.
