Keith Rossiter was elated after Oulart-The Ballagh finally shook off their bridesmaids' tag.

After losing all six of their previous Leinster club SHC final appearances, including a gut-wrenching four-in-a-row between 2010 and '13, it was a case of seventh time lucky for the Wexford men in yesterday's decider against Cuala.

"We've been called Oulart The Bottlers, we've been called everything," the former county defender said.

"So that's just the best day of my life so far. It showed the bottle that's in the players. We've been knocking on the door a long time.

"We're listening to it in Wexford and the main goal all year was to get back to a county final and contest it and please God win it.

"We did that. We took one game at a time all year and it's just absolutely brilliant, the feeling is just unreal. You don't know what it's like until you experience it.

"We've had the heartache and sometimes you can just turn around and work harder when that happens to you."

He added: "We don't kick any football in the club. It's hurling only and it's what the club deserve - Oulart-The Ballagh as a whole. The two parishes live for hurling and it's brilliant for everyone in it."
