Manager Martin Storey says Oulart The Ballagh will have to earn the right to be crowned Leinster senior club hurling champions.

The Wexford standard bearers will take on Dublin upstarts Cuala in the provincial decider on Sunday week and the Model County's 1996 All-Ireland winning captain accepts that having lost six previous Leinster finals, including four in a row between 2010 and 2013, doesn't make his side more worthy victors than their opponents:

"All this talk about you deserving one, that's bullshit," he told The Irish Daily Star. "There's no such thing as deserving anything in life.

"You have to take it and make it yours or someone else will.

"In Wexford, you play hurling to win Leinster and All-Ireland medals. I played for 16 years and won two Leinster medals, which wasn't enough.

"You play to win, you don't play to look good and put up big performances. There's nothing for second place. Anybody who says you play to participate hasn't a clue."
