Wexford dual star Daithi Waters may be about to throw his lot in with the county footballers after he withdrew from the hurling squads for 2016.
There has been speculation in recent weeks that Waters may make a return to the footballers next year, but Wexford manager David Power only said last week that he had not spoken to the St Martin's man about his intentions.
Waters devoted his time to the hurlers in 2015 and played in all their championship games, but it looks as if he will be part of Power's squad next year.
In a further blow to Liam Dunne's preparations for 2016, Buffer's Alley defender Ciaran Kenny has also left the squad after recurring injuries curtailed his inter-county career, while speculation is growing that Gareth Sinnott is about to announce his retirement from inter-county hurling.
