"They know as much about serious level sport as I do about the sleeping habits of the Ayatollah."

Sunday Game pundit Donal Og Cusack took aim at Cork GAA's top table on last night's show.

"Waterford supporters, I wouldn't say dismissed Dublin, but it was a case of, 'Are you going today? No, I'm waiting for the semi-final'. And I'm saying, 'We're playing a team looking to get into their third semi-final'. When you say this you are accused of being a cute manager, building up the other team."

Derek McGrath had a big job on his hands trying to manage Deise expectations in advance of their quarter-final clash against Dublin.

"He went to make a run and fellas ... your hurley is being pulled and there's fella blocking your runs. Liam reacted. Unfortunately, it's the fella who reacts who gets picked up."

Dublin boss Ger Cunningham on Liam Rushe's late red card.

"It is Kerry, they are the best footballers in the country and you are playing against the best. Playing against Kerry in Croke Park that is what you look forward to as a young lad."

Following their eight points victory over Cork, Padraig O'Neil and Kildare now turn their attention to the All-Ireland champions.

"Brian's two-year term is up as a result of Cork being knocked out."

Cork chairman Ger Lane revealed there will be no rushed decision on Brian Cuthbert's future as senior football manager.

"I can't wait for next year."

Cuthbert's hurling counterpart Jimmy Barry-Murphy sounded a defiant note as regards 2016.

"We're happy with the forwards in general in the championship, but we need to tidy up on the shooting ... we need to get a little better up front."

Anthony Cunningham and Galway won't get away with hitting 23 wides against Tipperary in the All-Ireland semi-final.

"We will approach the game on Sunday in the exact same way as we've approached every other game this year. If we don't, we will be sitting ducks, and we aren't going down there to be sitting ducks."

Dublin await Pete McGrath and Fermanagh in the last eight of the Sam Maguire race.

"We had a good start so you can't blame the Leinster final or anything else. We seemed to just sit back a bit then and the next thing it was five points all. We just didn't play in the second half."

Westmeath ran out of steam against the Ernesiders but, afterwards, manager Tom Cribbin declared his intention to stick around for next year.
