St Joseph's to appeal suspensions

July 08, 2015

The St Joseph's GAA club will lodged appeals to suspensions handed down to two of their members.

Following an investigation by the Wexford CCCC into an alleged incident during a game involving St Joseph's and Volunteers, two club members and a player from the St Joseph's club were suspended.

A St Joseph's player, David Tormey was handed a 24-week ban, while two club officials Wayne Rogan (chairman) and Richard Rogan (secretary) have been suspended for 12 weeks for fielding an ineligible player.

Tormey is believed to have played for the club illegally and club PRO Brian Rogan admitted to the Wexford People that they would be appealing the ban.

"We have discussed the letter and will be appealing the ban," said Rogan. "We will not be making any further comment as we do not want to compromise the appeal."
