An investigation has been launched by the Wexford County Board into an alleged assault on a well-known referee in the county.
Referee Barry Redmond is alleged to have been assaulted during the course of a Wexford town football league match between St Joseph's and Volunteers at Pairc Charman earlier this month.
It is alleged that a St Joseph's player assaulted the referee during the second half of the match. The CCCC have received the referee's match report and they governing body have forwarded their findings to the County GAA office.
The club and player have yet to be informed of the outcome, but it is believed that St Joseph's will appeal any decision.
