Wexford manager David Power admits that the All-Ireland SFC qualifiers are a different proposition to the championship.
Power is preparing his charges for the visit of Down to Innovate Wexford Park on Saturday evening as they embark on their qualifying campaign.
Sometimes it can be hard to get a side mentally right for the qualifiers after they have been dumped out of their provincial campaign.
Wexford lost to Westmeath a few weeks ago and Power knows that they have a big challenge ahead of them this weekend.
Speaking to the Wexford People, he said: "Against Down, we are meeting one of the few Ulster sides that like to play open, attacking football. That will suit our young side so it will be a good game of football.
"The qualifiers can be funny as a lot depends on the players' mind-set, but this is a big week for Wexford GAA, with the National Feile so we'll be determined to add to the occasion.
"Hopefully, we can get a performance and a result as a win would be huge boost to this young side's confidence."
Wexford will be without corner back Michael Furlong who has failed to recover from a knee injury sustained during the warm up ahead of the clash against Westmeath.
