Liam Dunne was in awe of Kilkenny after seeing them demolish his Wexford team in yesterday's Leinster SHC semi-final.
"We came up here to win the game and we're going home with our tail between our legs again," the shell-shocked manager told the Irish Daily Star after the 0-16 to 5-25 drubbing at Nowlan Park.
"No team will put you to the sword better than Kilkenny and they did it today.
"Who is anybody codding about Kilkenny? If I had the players that had retired from the Kilkenny panel last year, there's a good chance a good few of them would get on the team.
"Look, they are who they are and they are totally committed in what they do. They are a driven team and they have been an outstanding team since the GAA was erected.
"It was a disappointing day for Wexford, but we'll come again. We expected a lot of ourselves. We felt we prepared very well, but obviously some things weren't right."
Wexford were paired with Cork in this morning's All-Ireland qualifier first round draw and looking ahead to that, the 1996 All-Ireland winning centre back said: "We just have to dust ourselves down now and get on with it.
"You can lie down and die now, or you can come back with a bit of fight. Hopefully, our fellas will do that."
