We love a Qualifier draw

The Round 2A football and Round 1 hurling Qualifier draws will take place next Monday morning, June 22nd on RTE Radio after the 8.30am news.

The Round 2A football Qualifier draw is for four games which will take place on Saturday, July 4th.  This draw involves the four teams defeated in the 'A' side provincial semi-finals (Clare, Sligo/Roscommon, Monaghan/Fermanagh and Dublin/Kildare) against the four winners from Round 1A (London/Cavan, Laois/Antrim, Longford/Carlow, Waterford/Offaly).

A separate draw will be made for home advantage and where two teams have met previously in this year's provincial championship the winner of the provincial game shall have home advantage.

The Round 1 hurling Qualifier draw  involves the eight teams defeated in the Munster and Leinster quarter and semi-finals. Teams are drawn from two bowls which shall be as follows:

1.      Four Leinster Championship Teams

2.      Three Munster plus one Leinster Championship team.

(The Leinster Championship Team to be included in the Munster Group must be one of the two Teams that qualified through the Provincial Qualifier Group. A separate draw will be made, if necessary, to decide whether Westmeath or Laois - if involved - should be the team to join the "Munster" grouping for the purposes of the draw)

The teams shall play on a knock-out basis. A draw of four pairings of Group 1 v Group 2 teams, with avoidance of repeat pairings, will be made.

Venues will be on a home and away basis and will be determined by a separate draw. The Leinster teams involved will be Westmeath, Offaly, Dublin, the losers of Galway v Laois, the losers of Kilkenny v Wexford; the Munster teams will be Cork, Clare and the losers of Limerick v Tipperary. These hurling Qualifier games are scheduled to take place on 4 July.

Confirmation of home venues, times and all dates for the fixtures will be confirmed following a meeting of CCCC on Monday afternoon.
