The Wexford under-21 hurlers begin their Leinster championship campaign with an away clash against Kildare this evening (Wednesday).
St Conleth's Park, Newbridge will host this clash and Wexford under manager JJ Doyle will be favourites to go through against last year's All-Ireland under-21 B champions.
Wexford can call on a number of seniors for this clash including Conor McDonald, but Doyle stressed to the Wexford People that they will be taking nothing for granted.
"We are just focusing on ourselves, getting our own house right. Under-age is different to adult when it comes to games. We have to get our own performance together," said Doyle.
"This is Kildare's first chance in under-21 proper so they will be up for it. As the minors showed and we showed ourselves two years ago, no one team can be taken for granted on any given day.
"They will look upon it as a brilliant opportunity to show how much they have progressed and the work they have put into underage."
